About UEFI Secure Boot

Previous Next

There is malicious software which attacks computers to circumvent normal security features.  Examples of such software include root kits and Trojan viruses.   UEFI Secure Boot was designed to protect the system from unauthorized software which attacks the boot process.

UEFI Secure Boot works by checking "signatures" of all packages used in the boot process to confirm the software is from authorized parties and that the checked software has not been altered since creation.
